The USDA Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) provides funding to help farmers increase revenue by processing, marketing, and selling value-added products (jam, cheese, etc.). Whether you're expanding operations or launching a new product, this grant can provide the capital to make it happen.
Two types of VAPG funding
All awarded funds require a 1:1 match (cash or in-kind).
Planning Grants
For producers who need feasibility studies, business plans, or market research to develop their value-added business.
Maximum grant amount: $75k
Working Capital Grants
For producers who need funding for processing, marketing, and distribution of their value-added products. This grant can cover costs like packaging, labeling, website development, and promotional materials.
Maximum grant amount: $250k
Application Deadline: 11:59 p.m. ET on April 17, 2025

- Independent farmers
- Agricultural producer groups
- Farmer or rancher cooperatives
- Commercial fishers
- Food processors
